The 81 mm round with a HE-FRAG mortar bomb is intended to defeat
static soft targets, troops concentrations, machine-gun positions, vehicles,
etc. in a radius of up to 13 m upon firing to a maximum range of not less
than 2500 m under conditions of operational use. The killing effect is
achieved due to the great number of fragments and powerful high-explosive
action following the detonation.
